In a domestic case in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth on Saturday, tiie defendant, in evidence, said that about two nights before his wife left him ho said to hei, “ .Mum, isn't it grand that we have had no words for bo long?” This caused _Mr Justice Hosking to remark. “ You ought to touch wood when you say that sort, of thing.'’
