KIRWEE RED CROSS BRANCH.
T!ie ladies of the Kinveo Red Cross Branch had a very pleasant afternoon last- Friday, when they met at the Courtenay Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s office for the purpose of making a'presentation to their president, _ Mrs G- T. Robertson, who has been in charge of the brancli since its inception. The rooms were very tastefully arranged, ouo ;is a tea room and the other as a drawing-room, tho work having been done by Mesdames J. A. Brown and J. F. Lawrey. When afternoon tea had been dispensed, Mrs J. A Brown, on behalf of the branch, asked Mrs Robertson to accept a’beaten copper tray as a small memento of her long term as president of the branch, and eulogised the good work done by her during that time. ' Mrs Robertson suitably replied. During the afternoon competitions for prizes, donated by Mesdames J. Dysart and .T. F. Lawrey, were won by Mesdames R- W. 'Wilson and A. W. Colec. The function was concluded by singing tho National, Anthem. During the previous week the members of the Red Cross branch met at Courtenay, at " Strathhrae,” the residence of the president, Mrs G. T. Robertson, for the purpose of say big “ good-bye 1 ’ 5 to Mifis D. Miisgrave, treasurer of the branch, who is leaving the district. Mrs Robertson asked Miss Musgrave to accept a fountain pen as a small memento of the time when they had all worked together for Red Cross purposes. Songs wore contributed by Misses Willst-ecd and E. Colee, the accompaniments being played by Miss Millsteed- A competition for a prize given by Miss Robertson was won by Miss P. Belgnivc. ' Refreshments were provided by tho ladies, and Mrs Robertson was accorded a, hearty vote of thanks for the use of her boino for tho afternoon-
