Mr and Mrs W. H. Priest are visiting Christchurch. .Mrs Graham Hay ter, Alhury, is staying at Warner’s. Mrs Mather Holmes, Wellington, is visiting Chistchuch, Miss Koberta Nixon, Riccarton, is spending a few weeks at Simmer. .Air and Mrs J. Kirkcaldie and Miss Kirkcaldie, Wellington, are in town. Mrs Alan Nicholls returns to-day from a holiday spent at Mount Cook. The Hon and Mrs J. A. Hanan, Wellington, are staying at the Clarendon. Alias Aland Davidson, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs A. T. 0. Sellars, Alerivale. Airs .Binnle, Auckland, left for Dunedin to-day after a fortnight spent in Christchurch. Airs' Way, who has been in Sumner for some months, has returned to her house at Cashmere. Air and Airs J. K. Davidson, Kaikoura, arrived in Christchurch this morning on a visit. Dr and Mrs Barnett, Dunedin, arrived in Christchurch last evening, and are staying at AVarner’s. Airs AValcot Wood, Colombo Street, has returned to Christchurch after several weeks spent in Dunedin. Mrs Robert Hanna, a respected resident of Riccarton, died at her home today after a long and severe illness. Air and Mrs Godfrey Hall, Hororatn, are spending a few days in town, and '. are staying at the United Service. Mrs West and Miss Elaine West, Wellington, who have been the guests of Airs A. S. Taylor, have gone on to Mount Cook. Air and Airs A. L. Pratt, Holly Road, have returned to their home in town after, several weeks spent at Scarborough. Alisa Pratt is in the North Island- . Mrs-fWv &; Whitcomhe, Murray Place,' , Bt Albans, gave a bridge party Inst evening in honour of Airs Binnie, Auckland, who has been visiting Christchurch. - The room was beautifully decorated with tiger lilies and sunflowers. Those playing included Air and Airs H. Knight, Mrs Alayne, the Misses AVhitconibe, Mr and Airs G. Donaldson, Air and Airs Al’Knight, Airs Collins, Airs Mason, Aliss Lola Alason, Air Wakot .Wood and Aliss Greta Wood. The Selwyn nursing division of the St John Ambulance Brigade met in the brigade rooms. As part of a scheme of preparation for a possible recurrence of the epidemic, Airs AVhittaker, lady corps superintendent, gave a demonstration of the method of sponging a patient-in bed, following that up with a most instructive talk upon the symptoms and treatment of pneumonia. Airs AVhittaker was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks.
