TO ITUS EDITOR. Sir,—ln your report of my statement mad* at the Magistrate's Court on Monday you credit mo with saying that, "the firm could not' continue to pursue its . . old policy of keeping its old servants, on, although he recognised that it was a good policy il one could afford it.” This is not quite correct. la response to a question by Mr Hunter, solicitor for the Labour Department, I said “ the policy ,of retaining old servants was a good ono if the company could, afford it.” The question of continuing such a, policy must, of course, rest with the directors ana managers of the company for the time being, —I am, etc., ROBERT BELL.
