Wakatu, s.s., for Kaikoura, March 7. Orepuki, s.a., for Wellington, March 7. SHIPPING NOTES. The Kamona, which loft Lyttelton on Friday last will load at Westport for Oiimaru and Dunedin. The Rankaoa will return to ■Westport from Wellington to load for Auckland. The Karu arrived at Greymouth on Saturday from New Plymouth, and was due to leave the same doy for Wellington. Hie Te Anau reached Oammu on Saturday morning from Bluff and was expected to leave •gain that day for Timaru and Auckland. The Kaituna. was due at Westport on Sunday from Auckland, and will load at Wcat■port for Wellington. The Kini left Westport on Saturday for Kaipara and Onehunga, and will sail from that port .for Westport and Greymouth to load for Dunedin. The Kittawa, at present in New Plymouth, is to sail for Greymouth to load for Wellington. The Monowai, which sailed from Wellington and cast coast ports last evening, brought the following passengers from Dunedin for Lyttelton:—Messrs Horn, Adair, ' Mesdemes Inkster, Shuker and child, Adams and child, Hutton and cold, Misses Miles and M'Laohlau. The Pohorua. was due at Westport on Saturday to load for Timaru, from which port she will proceed to Westport to load for Lyttelton, Oaniaru and Dunedin. The Rita, three weeks out from Whangarei, has not piit in an appearance at Lyttelton yet. - , • The Karamu arrived at an early hour this morning from Greymouth with a cargo of coal. She ig expected to leave to-morrow evening for Greymouth. The Stella arrived from the Chatham ... Islands early yesterday morning with sheep " and wool. It was hoped to dispatch the ves- ' sel back to the Islands last evening, hut as her boilers require blowing out it will be . early to-morrow morning before she can make her departure. The Tarawera is due here to-morrow morning fr,om Napier, and will sail the same day for that port to make the final trip with sheep. She will then load general cargo for Timaru and Auckland. The Wakatu is timed to leave Wellington this evening for Kaikoura, and is due here on Thursday evening, sailing the following day for Kaikoura. The Orepuki was to sail from Greymouth last night for this port, and is duo here on Thursday. It is hoped to dispatch her for Wellington and Greymouth on Friday. The schooner Lily, which left Kaipara • fortnight ago last Saturday, encountered continuous southerly winds, which delayed her considerably. The vessel, which is ful'y loaded with Umber, arrived yesterday about noon, and was berthed at the breastwork. The scow Zingara is expected to leave Lyttelton to-movrow laden with uroduco for Gisborne. At Gisborne she will load for Australia. The Breeze, from Pieton and Wanganui, is due here on Thursday. She.’rill sail the same evening for Dunedin and Timaru, and should he here on the following Monday. Mr W. N. Aimers, late second engineer of \thc Maheno, has taken Mr S. J. Munn’s place on the Monowai. Mr A. N. B. Smith, formerly of the Tahiti, who lias been ashore on sick leave, has now joined the Kahika as third engineer. Mr 0. B. Madden, recently discharged from camp, has joined the Monowai as purser Mr C. Leighton, a former purser of the Niagara, is now attached to the Wellington office of the Union Company. Captain H. S. Cox, formerly chief officer of the Maunganui, has been given command of the Rosamond. The Calm will be taken out of dock this afternoon and is expected to sail this evening for Wanganui to load sheep for Lyttelton. The Storm did not sail last evening as anticipated, but is timed to leave this afternoon for Timaru. The Wootton is expected to leave Lyttelton early this afternoon for Wellington. The auxiliary steamer Houto will sail tomorrow with a full cargo of produce for Auckland direct. ROSAMOND IN DIFFICULTIES. On Thursday evening the Union Steam Ship Company's vessel Rosamond left Timaru for Wellington, and was duo to arrive there on Saturday morning. About eight o’clock that morning, when sho was in V'afifeer Eav. ami about twenty miles off Wellington Heads, a high pressure piston broke, and the ship was disabled for about fourteen hours while repairs were being effected. At 10 p.m. sho was able to continue her, way into harbour at a slow speed, and dropped anchor in the stream early on Sunday morning. Sho was then taken to a, berth at Jervois Quay by the. tug Terawhiti. It is understood that permanent repairs will occupy two or three days to effect.
