[Per Press Association .] AUCKLAND, December 16i At, the Supreme Court to-day John Arnold, who had been found guilty of an aggravated assault on his wife at Alfriston, was sentenced to seven years’ reformative treatment. Mr Justice Cooper said that accused was subject to ungovernable, passion. The Prisons Board would determine whether ho could be released before tile end of the term without risk of him committing a similar crime. Florence Frances Hull was admitted to probation for two years on a charge ol bigamy. The offence occurred when accused’s husband was in camp. The husband on being demobilised forgave her and took her back, together with a child born to the other man. Patrick Dunn, concerning whom . a jury disagreed last week, was retried on charges of breaking and entering and theft in connection with the recent city burglaries. He was found nob guilty. ,1 ames Davern, Edward J. M’Clclland and "Walter Is. Papesch, previously found guilty of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, came up for sentence. Davern and M’Lelland, who pleaded guilty, were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, followed by five years’ reformative treatment, concurrent with previous sentences. Papesch, who on a previous charge was admitted to probation, pleaded not guilty to the present charge. Ho was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon.
