REMOVED FROM MQTUIHI. [.Pip. Prkss Assocunox.j . AUCKLAND, December 17. Tile interned Germans were transferred from Motuihi Island to Narrow Neck Camp yesterday afternoon. The ex-Governor of Samoa, Schultz, drove irom the wharf to the camp in a motorcar, but the main body marched under guards. A few .'boots greeted Schultz at one point, otherwise there was no' demonstration. The prisoners looked remarkably healthy and well-fed. At the head of the march was Count von Luckner, who took no part in the laughter and joking in which the other internees indulged. , u Mheti a photographer was taking a snap ” von Luckner raised the coat, which lie carried on his arm, in front ot lus lace. . What struck the spectamost was the amazing amount of goods and chattels which accompanied the prisoners. Several Defence Department wagons were throughout . .the day conveying these (meets from this ’ wharf' ’to the camp. At the wharf the luggage was landed on wagons by prisoners, hut at the camp the duty of taking it off the wagons fell to native soldiers.' The hut formerly used by the Y.M.O.A. has been set aside, it is understood, as the abedo of the ex-Governor of Samoa, Early in the day, it is reported,, it was suggested to certain non-commissioned officers in camp that they,might get.a party of Native soldiers to prepare this hub for its occupant, but a cablegram that morning telling of the mutilation of a British prisoner in Germany was regarded as sufficient.
