The ferry steamer sailed for Wellington wlh a large number of pasengera last evening. The vessel is expected to leave Wellington again this afternoon, about four 0 clock, and should arrive bore to-morrow morning about seven o’clock. There wag a strong south-west wind blowing at Lyttelton this morning, accompanied by heavy rain. The whistle buoy, which has received its annual cleaning and painting, and is now anchored alongside the Gladstone Pier, is proving its effectiveness, for though laying in the inner harbour in comparatively calm water, the buoy whistles at regular intervals. As soon as the weather moderates outside the Heads the buoy will be towed by the Harbour Board's tug and placed in its position. It is highly probable that the Cygnet will make a trip to Chain's Bay, Litlo Akaloa and Le Bona on Monday, in place of the Monica. The Breeze and Calm axe bold up at Dunedin awaiting the watersiders to resume work, and the Storm, at Wanganui, is similarly situated. The Tarawora is reported to have left Sydney for New Zealand. The Remuera is at uresent delayed at Port Chalmers 'owing to the epidemic. Ae soon as possible she will load at Timaru and Wellington for London. Tbe iKurow is duo at Wellington on or about November 29, from San Francisco, via Papeete, with general cargo. The R.M.S. Maktira is duo on Thursday at Auckland and Vancouver.
