Onr new serial will commence in next Monday s issue, and in future an instalment will be published daily instead of twice weekly. The story, which is written in Air Fletcher’s best stylo, is full of exciting incidents, and the reader’s interest is sustained, to the finish. A brief synopsis is ns follows ; ~
The mysterious disappearance of a well-known actor, who lias visited an out of the way coastal village, gives rise to the peculiar detective* story written round Scarhaven Keep, a ruin on' the estate of Mars ton Greyle. The actor was not known in the’ village, and the only cine to the mystery is a remark bo bad made to a man in the village that be bad met a man in America of that name. Mars ton Greyle however, denies ever having seen the actor- Greylo’s steward. Chat field, who has been the servant of the family for years, and who had brought Marston Greyle to Searbaven when he arrived from America to lake over the estate, behaves in a peculiar manner, and when the body of the missing actor Is discovered, suspicions arc centred' on him ami his master'. There- is, however, no evidence to connect them with the actor’s death,' the circumstances of which suggest an accident, and it is.in the working out ’of the case and the final detection of flic real criminals that " Scarhaven Keep” justifies its cl.aims as an exciting and absorbing story. <,
