SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting of ibe Elmwood School Committee was bold on Monday, Mr W. Jones presiding. Mr Fraser reported that the timber for the garden fences was procurable, and it was decided to have them erected at once. Mr Jones donated three shady trees for the girls’ play ground. It was decided to have ibe garden in the, school grounds and in the caretaker's grounds J intended to immediately. Tho deputulion't'So the Education Board reported that tliev had been successful in obtaining a grant of fl-iO towards tho ocst of levelling and grading the school grounds. Miss Lockwood bad been appointed assistant mistress. The Tisilino) Committee reported on the state oi the fireplaces in the now buildins?. and it Was decided to have them remodelled. The trees having been topped it was decided to bare all the wood sawn and stored for fuel.
