ORTHOPEDIC HOSPITAL
DEPARTMENTAL OFFICERS IN CHRISTCHURCH.
Limiifuiaiit-Coloiiel T. H, A. Valintine. Director of Medical Services, and Lieutenant-Colonel I), S. Wylie, officer in charge of the New Zealand Orthopedic Unit, arrived in Christchurch to-day to do some preparatory work in connection with tho Orthopedic Hospital for soldiers, which it is proposed to establish at tlie Chalmers Ward of the Genenral Hosnital.
Tho officers are'inspecting-the ward to-day to ascertain how'far it is suitable for the purpose. They will report to the Minister of Defence, and stated that in the meantime they were not at liberty to supply any information for publication.. • Tho Hospital and Charitable Aid Board will meet to-morrow, when probably further reference will ho made to tho new institution. '
Lieutenant-Colonel Valinlino stated that- other members of tho unit are now on their way to Christchurch.
