Tho Kara is timed to sail to-day for Timaru, returning hero .on Friday to load for Wellington. The Orepuki wall sail this evening for Groymouth. The vessel brought a cargo ol timber from the West Coast.

The Rosamohn, wltich -arrived on Sunday from Wellington,.-is. timed to leave, this aftcia Boon for Napier-direct. Tho Pohorua, on completing her discharging of ooal to-day, will return to Grey mouth. The Waipori, is at present discharging - a load of Newcastle coal. It is-expected that, tho vessel will, leave for Auckland direct on Friday From the latter port she will proceed to Kaipata, thence to Melbourne and Adelaide.

Tho Patccnawilt be the ferry s loam or from Wellington this evening. The John Anderson is duo back from Akaro» to-day. To-morrow evening she will sail for Kaihonni. ■

Captain R. A, Campbell arrived in Lyttelton on Sunday morning from tho north to take charge of tHa Opohi, which is expected to fc>i ready to make a. trial trip in about a week’s time. Captain Campbell was first mate of tho Inga-. , The Wcstraliiv left Lyttelton last evening .for Dunedin and Bluff, en route for Melbourne. Sho is expected to leave Bluff bn Thursday.

Tho Rales noa, from "Newcastle, arrived at Auckland yesterdav morning. The schooner Bertie Minor arrived at "Wellington yesterday afternoon from San Francisco. Tho vessel’s rudder carried away on July 23, and oho finished tho voyage with a jury rudder. Tho Kakapo camo out of dock at Port Chalmers on Saturday morning ’and loft in tho evening for Timam to load for Auckland. On her way up tho const she will call at .Wellington for bunker coal Owing to rain, work on the Calm was delayed on Saturday at Dunedin. Tho vessel should reach hero to-morrow.

Mr R-. J. Dawson, son of Captain J. Dawson, harbourmaster, has arrived in "Wellington from Napier, where he signed off the barque lima as able seaman. Mr Bawson •will join a ship ofa.tbe Scales Lino in a few days. He has yet to serve six months before ho ails for a second mate’s ticket. Mr Dawson had two years’ service on tho Mehono. The Wootton is due this evening from Wellington, for which port she is timed to leave again to-morrow.
