At a conductresses’ mass meeting the chairman announced a, hitch in the negotiations, and the meeting adjourned after informally negativing a proposal to resume work pending an award. AT LOGGERHEADS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received August 24, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, August 23. The traffic strikers’ meeting was so packed that many girls fainted. It appears that the officials of the two unions are at loggerheads. TO RESUME. _ Subsequently a stormy meeting decided to resume work on Friday.
