A Prussian officer who was captured and asked bv an American intelligence officer regarding the accuracy of the story replied. “ Yes; don’t you tell your men the same thing about the Germans?” WASHINGTON. August 21. General March states that the length of the hattletront has been reduced'by iilty miles as a result of the Allies’ recent operations. Tho United States is still dependent on British ships for the larger portion of its oversea transport.
