The yarding of fat cattle, in point of numbers, showed Jittlc change since last week, the entry being substantially of the same (.imcnsions. The general quality was fair, some, lines being specially good, and among the latter must be included a fine line of Hereford Cross steers from llio Hawkswood estate, the best of which realised £22 is fid. the tone of the market showed an easier all-round tendency. Ordinary cows £8 7s Cd to £l2. STORE CATTLE. There was_ a fair .yarding of store gattle, the bulk being indifferently bred cattle in fair condition, the whole yarding being rather below ihe standard seen at Addington at recent sales. DAIRY COY’S. Dairy cows came forward in fair numbers, heifers forming' the bulk of the yarding. The demand was a medium one, the majority of tho would-be purchasers showing preference for the younger sort?. Prices ranged from £S to £los 10a for cows, according H *'hiss, whilst heifers realised £l2 to £lB 12s fid. FAT LAMBS. There was an entry ot 2634 fat iambs, as compared with 2280 iho previous week. Tho quality showed an improvement, there being several largo lines of very prime quality lambs. There was little or no change in tho market, if anything the tone was a shade easier. Prices were about equal to SRI per lb over all. The range of prices was: Extra prime lambs, to 33s 4d. Prime lambs, 27s Gd to 325. Medium lambs 24s fid to 275. Lighter, 21s to 245. There was a HHle increase in ihe varding of fat sheep, the offerings being sufficient to fill eight races. There was a largo proportion of prime quality wethers as well as some good pens of owes, and eevoral liens .of merino wethers were included in the entry. Owing to the free operations of export buyers ihe market was decidedly firm, and values compared with tho rates ruling last week showed an advance of about Is per head. STORE SHEEP. Once again tho yarding of store, sheep was a largo one, although somewhat smaller than of last week. Notwithstanding that tho yarding contained a fait proportion of rough sheep, the average quality showed an improvement. Tho lone of tho market was bettor than at the sale held a week earlier, the presence of several southern dealers giving a stimulus to business, and as a result tho passings were less numerous than at several recent sales. Fat calves were represented by a fair entry, all descriptions being penned, tho bulkbeing of good quality. A line of suckers stood out ns far as quality was concerned, stood out as far a« quality was concerned. O',ring (o ihe somewhat short supply there was r. sharp advance in values. There was a medium entry of fat pies, tho yarding being a, very mixed one, varying from very good to poor. There was a "free demand for all well finished pigs, Prices were: Choppers £4 to £7 12s (id. Extra heavy baconcrs £0 to £G 12? Cd. Heavy buconcrs £4 15s to £5. Ordinary baconcrs £4 to £4 10s, Price per lb 7td to ?d. Heavy porkers G9s to flip. Lighter porkers 50s To I>7- Gd.
