rile hirst Military Service Board held a sitting at Bangiora to-day; present--Messrs J. S, Evans (chairman). J. I). Mill ton and H. E. Robins, Captain I’ilkington was military representative. L. B. Evans, Kainpoi (Mr Pappcrill), appealed on behalf of George C- H. Clift, farm labourer, classed Cl. The appeal was dismissed. Alexander Forrest (Mr Pappcrill). farmer, Kaiapoi, appealed on the ground that his services wore required on his mother’s farm. Adjourned sino die. The appeal of Ernest Driscoll (Mr Pappcrill), butcher’s assistant, Kaiapoi, classed Cl, was adjourned, with a recommendation that Ralph Barnard should be released from homo service at the Feathorston camp to take his place with appellant’s employer, Barnard’s fa Cher. Alfred Thomas Blackwell (ATr Papporill). farmer, Amberley, asked for an extension of time, not having been able to dispose of his farm. Adjourned till July. The appeal of James Miles (Mr Grcsson), farmer, Fernsidc. ivas dismissed, appellant being allowed time till the July draft to enable him to got in his crops. Tito case of John Frederick Pilcher (Mr'Gresson), farmer, Hawarclen, which had been adjourned till after harvest for an Efficiency Board report, Avas further adjourned till July. The appeal of James Bluett (Mr Van Ascii), working manager, employed by Lady Campbell, Happy Valley, was dismissed. "R. O. Duncan’s appeal on behalf 'of James Mhitelarv (Mr Gresson), high country imisterer, was adjourned sine die.

In the case of Victor George Martin (Mr Van Asch), farmer and threshing machine owner, East Eyroton, evidence was given that Ids threshing machine was essentia! to the district, and an adjournment till July was granted. William James Bennett (Mr Van Asch), fireman on tho Ncav Zealand railways, Parnassus, appealed on the ground that he Avas maintaining his father, mother and other members of tho family at a cost of two-thirds of his Avcekly Avnges. Adjourned sine die.

Tlio adjourned ease of Albert Valentine Baker (Mr Van Ascii), fanner, Mnipara, was reviewed and adjourned sine die.

The appeal of Robert C. Blackett (Mr Van Asch), farmer, Lohurn, which had been adjourned till after harvest, aims further considered and dismissed, time being allowed till tho July draft.

(•Special to 11 Star.' - ’) ASHBURTON. April W. The ."Military Service Board held a sitting to-day. The following appeals were dismiss-ed:—-E. Fitzgerald, R. E. Hampton, E, G. LoGros. F. C. Ncutzo, C. P. Reid and W. Woodside The appeal of R. Goodwin was adjourned sine die. The following appeals were granted: D. A. Borg, G. R. Brown, J. 11. Kidd and D. L. Robertson. The following were granted time;— J Beattie till June 3, J. M’Cosker till J‘;me 20, H. P. Lennon till May 6. G, Kelly’s appeal was adjourned till after May 8. The following were classed as C2:—C. J Daly, F. R. Harrison and A. Holmes.

At the meeting of the Lyttelton Harbour Board this morning a report was received from the board's warehouseman that owing to the hoard's brick bond store being again required for the storage of cheese, that store was nob available for the storage and grading of honey.
