SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
A meeting of the St Albans committee was held on Mmidav evening at the school; present— Mr E. H. Andrews (chairman), Airs Ada, Fraser and Messrs F. Cole, J. EerOvd, S. I-anllmer, G. E, Franklin. J. Macisrlane, C. E. Green and T. P. Moore. The Works Committee reported on the school buildings and grounds, which were in good condition, also on certain improvements tc the bath. The treasurer’s statement shoved a credit, balance, and a number of accounts wore passed for payment. A draft of annual report was read, and after one or two minor amendments was passed. It was agreed to bold a meeting of the householders on Saturday evening next to discuss cducationai topics. The head moetcr'a report showed the highest average attendance 608. Seven boys and eight girls had been admitted to the school during tho month, and seven boys and four girls bad left. Tbe resignation of Mr D. Arnott bad been sent in, be having been appointed to a position al tne Hoys High School. The head master asked for (he usual XI Is donation for prises in connection with the s',rimming sports. The crmcritlcs acceded to the request.
