RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION.

The Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association met at the association rooms on Tuesday, Mr H. M. Cotton presiding. Jhe question-of the enemy alien was discussed again, and it was decided that the secretary should obtain as much information as is possible and submit it to members of the association at a meeting to be held shortly. It was resolved that the Anzac Day ceremony be the same as last year, and that a wreath should be pl'aml' at the Cathedral in commemoration of April 25, 1915. It was resolved .that the collection taken up on the day of the annual appeal bo equally divided between the Lady Liverpool and the Salvation Army hj unds, to send comforts to the men at the front. A communication was received from the Commissioner of Pensions, and the secretary was insl ructed to write to the Minister of Defence asking for particulars in reference to the pensioner concerned. It was decided that the matter of settlement of soldiers on the land should be discussed fully at a future! meeting. A letter was received from Mr A. Goodwin, of Pigeon Bay. inviting returned soldiers to spend a day at his residence. The secretary was instructed to arrange a visit as early as possible. One member transferred to the, Wellington association and one to RaL clutha. . .Seven members were admitcd on transfer from various associations. The Now Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association official organ, “Quick March.’’ was discussed, when Messrs TV. M. Cotton (chairman) and H. N. M.’Callnm, pud the secretary (Mr (J. W. Green), were instructed to write to the headquarters of the association in reference to the matter. One hundred and f( rty-three members were elected. Mr ID. Hay, of Pigeon Bay. was elected a life honorary member of the association.
