THE ANZACS.
PROPOSED RECOGNITION. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 26, 11.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE. November 26. Senator Pearce, Minister of Defence, states that his Government has made continued overtures to the Imperial authorities to specially recognise the original Anzacs, in the form of a medal or other token. (A cablegram received on Saturday said:—The War Office has agreed to sanction the issue by the Australian and New Zealand Governments of a star-shaped medal to the Anzacs who embarked for service in 1914, and landed at Gallipoli.)
