The best treatment is to add Ensoul' salts to the water with which their soft food is prepared, feed on food of a more coolinpr nature, and let them have a g-ood supply of fresh green food. Ihe bare places should bo bathed with a. solution of Kerol or Jeyea' Fluid, and in bad cases a thorough good wash will prove beneficial. T.W., Christchurch. —Fowls for fattening should be kept in a small shed and fed upon plenty of fattening food, such ns Indian corn or barley meal, ground op..a and pollard, mixed together with slum milk, burincc tho last ten days add a email quantity of boiled fat to tho mash._ For a change for the last thing at night, sue plentv of boiled barley cr wheat, but th.s should not be allowed to stand more than a day, for it soon becomes sour, and will do tho birds more harm than good. -Aim milk is excellent for the birds to drink, and if there are a number to fatten boiled potatoes may be added to the mash. A special meeting of the Executive Council of the South Island Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Association will oe held this ©veiling. The South Island Wyandotte Club will meet this evening to consider it request from the Chnstchurch Poultry Club with regard to recommending a Wvandotte judge for its annual show. Whilst being returned from the. Courtenay Show Mr T. 3D. Conway s valuable utility Silver Wyandotte cockerel got both its iegs broken. The bird's legs have been placed in splints, and Mr Conway hopes to be able to save it for stud purposes. At a meeting _of tho North Island Poultry Association last week the question of framing a utility poultry standard for New Zcala,nd was and it was decided to set up a committed consisting of the presidents of _ the North and South Island Associations, th? president of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club, the GovernmentPoultry Experts, with seven other leading utility poultry experts from all over New Zealand, with power t-o_ add to the number selected by the North and South Island Associations. Mr G. E. who was successful in utility White Wyandotte pullets at the last Ohristchurch Show, has_ received a large order from the North Island for pullets Mr W. T. Green has received an inquiry from Tennessee, United States, tor some of his noted Laying ducks. Mr Green has had a successful season, with his young stock, and he hopes to finish up shortly with over 1000 chicklings. He has already selected his team for the next competition, and these are receiving special attention. Mr H. G. Hunt, of Christclnirch, has boon placod on tho North Island Association's list of canary judges by request of the Dominion Canary Specialist Club, Wellington. .
