COMPANIES' OFFER REFUSED. VICTORY FOR EXTREMISTS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 24, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, November 23. The National Conference of railwaymen refused the companies' offer of 5s advance, making the war increase £1 per week. The men ask for an extra 10s. The decision is a victory for the extremists. Mr J. FI. Thoams, M.P.. states that, the situation is serious but there must be no stoppage of the railways.
