4 PROTEST FROM LABOUR. [Per Prkbb Association.] DUNEDIN. August. 17. The Otago Labour Council has resolved to endorse the. action of the nalion.il executive of tho Federation ol Labour in sending to tlio Prime Minister a letter <of protest regarding tlio war loan and the conditions attached thereto. The council also resolved to urge the Federation Executive to direct immediate concerted action throughout the Dominion against the melt hods of the Government in connection with the ivar loan and to endeavour, to force tho liovernrnent before the people. BUSINESS IN OHTtISTCHURCH. Inquiries made at the General Post .Office show that fair business is being done in connection with tho new -war loan. The holiday spirit abroad this week in affecting application for bonds ;j.nd certificates, and it is expected than *Jiero will l>o brisker business next week.
