WON IX QUEENSLAND. Tho total value of minerals, other than gold, coal and precious stones, won in Queensland during tho quarter ended June 30 was £71*2,303, which represents .a decrease of £'l*26s compared with the correspondir'.>- ;icrii>il oi : !916. As usual, copper bulks most largely in tho returns, the quantity of that metal produced being 50761; tons, an increase of 763 i tons, valued at £\53,840, an increase of £4393. Cloncurry and Mount Morgan supplied nearly all the copper. The crutput of bismuth and wolfram was 73J tons, valued at 11,251 an increase of 153 tons, valued at £3OBI. Tho wolfram yield was 115 tons, valued at £18,4-13. compared to 128J tons, valued iifc £19.805. In the second quarter of last year 32 tons of molybdenito way produced, the value beincr £13,300. as against 2G tons, value.! at £11,484. The whole of tho production of this rare metal was in the Chillagoe district. It is stated that Queensland is 'the biggest producer in the •world of molybdenito and wolfram. Tho quantity of silver won from Queensland mines ivas 55.9420z. valued at £9052. compared with 32,5440z, valued at £4373.
