For days they had been living on bsans, macaroni and sn'it r>eas. cfi-er a voyage durinc which they had struck [jTnetual rough weather and never sighted another sail. They decided to abandon the boat, and launched tho small rowing boat. They managed to find an onening in the reef and'landed in safety. Thoy are now in Suva, and will proceed to Pago Pago (Samoa), ■whence they hope to continue their voyage back to America. SHIPPING NOTES. Captain J. Carlson has resumed command : of the Ripple after holiday leave, thus relieving Captain Fletcher, who has gone ashore. The Wootton is timed to leave this evening for Wellington, whence she will proceed to Golden Beach to load coal for Lyttelton. ' The Calm is due here on Saturday from " Wellington. She sails the same day for Bluff. The Wakatu is timed to leave this evtning for Kaikoura and Wellington.
