THE HOLIDAYS.
GRAND NATIONAL WEEK. The racing of the Grand National Week will begin to-morrow, and will be continued until the end of the week. In. recent years,, there have been six days' racing, but, under the restrictions imposed by the war conditions, the time this year has been reduced to four days. Previously, the Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting was held on tho Saturday preceding the week, and on the Wednesday and the Friday of the Grand National Week, and the Canterbury Jockev Club's meeting was held on the Tuesday, the. Thursday, and the Saturday, the Monday being an off-dav. This year the Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting will ba held on Wednesday and Friday, and the Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting on Thursday and Saturday. The only'other fixture for the week is the Canterbury Kennel Club's Show, which will be held in the King's Theatre, on Thursday and Friday.
