COOL STORAGE.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTERS. (Special to "Star.") "WFiJ/fXGTON, July 27. Mr G. J. Anderson, MP., introduced Mr T. "\V. Foster (chairman) and several members of the South Island Dairy Association, as r. deputation to Mr Massoy and Sir Joseph "Ward to di.scuss Government assistance in providing cool storage for next season's ehorae at the Muff, Dunedin and Lyttelton on tho same terms as those given to Wellington. Sir Joseph Ward and Mr Massoy stated, that tho Government was quite willing to do so, and the deputation then inquired if two-thirds, instead of one-half, of the cost of tho work would bo advanced by the Government, iand that tho term of repayment should bo extended from two to throe years. Tho Ministers replied that these points would have to be considered by tho Cabinet, which would treat all alike. Tho deputation expressed doubts whether tfio Dunedin Harbour Board Avomld erect a store, buit if not tho association would do tho work. TheJ Bluff Harbour Board. ha<l offered to build a. store, costing £16,000 provided the dairy factories contributed £4OOO.
