THOMAS WOOLLEY.

Mr Thomas Woollov, a highly respected settler in the Ashburton County, died at his residence, Wills Street, Ashburton, yesterday morning. Mr Woolley, who was eighty-threo years of ago, was born in Yorkshire, England, and arrived in New Zealand in 1863 by tho ship Huntress. He first obtained employment with Mr McFarlane, Rangiora, after which 110 was engaged in contracts and farm work at Tai Tapu for six years. Ho then went to Ashburton and took up land at Willowby, and also acquired 278 acres near the Wakanui Creek. After fanning in that district for so/110 years ho purchased land on the Maronan Road, Hinds, which ho farmed until seven years ago, since when ho ha-s resided in Ashburton. He leaves' a widow and three sons, and eight daughters.
