TO-DAY'S CASES. (Before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Ono male first oflender was lined oik 01* twenty-four hours' imprisonment, arid olio female statutory first ofieiv'er was also fined Bs, or twenty-lour hours in gail. A WOMAN VAGRANT. Mimiio Doyle was charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, and with being found on premises in St Asaph Street by night without lawful excuse. Suit-Inspector Mullany said the woman was a wanderer. The police did not knew what to do with her. Tho Magistrate sentenced accused to six months' imprisonment. THEFT OF A WATCH. Amy Adelaide M'Minn was charged with stealing a gold watch, valued at £4. on or about September 9. Accused pleaded guilty. Chicf-Doleetivo Herbert stated that accused was already in the Salvation Army Homo, where she would' stay for six months. The .Magistrate said that under those circumstances lie would convict and dischargo accused. BREACHES OF THE BY-LAWS. Andrew Allen (Mr Mosley) was fined 10s, without costs, for driving over a railway crossing at Riccarton while a train was approaching. Mr Mosley explained that defendant was practically on tho lino before ho saw the light signal. R. J. Roper was convicted and discharged for allowing cattle to wander. William Black was mulcted in 5s and costs for not haviiur a number on tho rear of his motor-cycle, and a similar fine was inflicted against Jack Cade, charged with committing tho same breach of tho .regulations. William Bowden was fined 5s and costs for not possessing a certificate of ability to drive a motor-cyclo. Defendant explained that a certificate which bo had in connection with engino work was. he thought, sufficient. David M'Gill, similarly charged, was also mulcted to tho extent of os and costs.

Oscar W. Collings was fined 10s and costs for turning a comer ui the city on the wrong Bide. Stanley B. Denton, who had no silencer on his motor-cycle, was fined 10s and costs. Leonard Prebblo was fined 5s and costs for not having identification marks on a motor-cycle, and 10s and cos's for not possessing a certificate of ability.

Cyril K. Ward was fined 20s and costs for driving a motor at a speed described as " dancerons motoring." Hiram L. Wilson was mulcted in 10s and costs for not using a nilcncer on a motor-cycle, and in fis and costs for not having an identification mark, on his machine.
