On the British front last night we heavily bombarded enemy trenches between the Ancre and the Somme, during.whkh a.hostile ammunition depot near Conrcellete (north-east of Pozieres) was exploded by onr fire. Canadian infantry successfully raided onemy trenches south of Ypres, the Royal Munster Fusiliers carrying out a similar enterprise in the Loos salient. The enemy's casualties in each case • were severe. Near the Hohenzollern* Redoubt the . Germans attempted two raids, one failing absolutely. The other succeeded in entering our front trench, but the enemy were immediately driven out.
