HOCKEY.

CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Ho.ckey Association met last evening; present—Messrs W. Simpson (chairman), J. Scott, N. Goldsbury, E. N. Smith, \V. H. Down and C. Joneß. The Defence Department wrote stating that a, compu.sory parade for Senior Cadets would be held on August 5. It was decided to postpone al! matches in the eecond, third, fourth and fifth grades on that date. The matter of the Senior competition was left in the hands of the competitions committee to ascertain if the parade would afiect any of the senior teams. The chairman reported that in the third grade competition Technical College and "Woolston were equal for first place. After considerable discussion it was decided that the teams should play off on Saturday next oh the polo ground, and tho games they are drawn to play should bo held over till tho end o£ the season. Messrs W. Kogera and C. Bishop, a deputation from tho Hockey Red Cross Bandage Class, waited on. the association and urged tho necessity of more players attending the class on Friday evening-, as additional bandages were required. It was decided to eend a letter to each refereo, to read to the players on Saturday, pointing out tho necessity for more players to tako up the vrorfc for this deserving object.
