. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 5. " Sir Rider Haggard was tendered, a civic reception. Ho said that the German claims to victory were lies, else why had tho enemy ships sought the shelter of harbours and mine fields? Referring to the work of General ■Botha, Sir Rider said that there was no jroore true-hearted worker for ImperialSir Rider Haggard said that great dangers were ahead of the Empire, and the only wav to prepare was to see that every part was as well populated and as strong as possible.
