COMFORTS FOR SOLDIERS.
The Lady Liverpool Committee by the last mail received quite a la rye .number of letters from Canterbury soldiers at the front, "thanking them for the various gifts and comforts received. To show that the committee is doing i good work and to prove that the hoys I are duly receiving parcels, the following letters and names are published.— The Hon Secretary, Lady Liverpool I Fund, Christchurch—Your letter dated December 2 just to hand. The gifts mentioned were handed out to the [ troops just before leaving Zeitoun, about January 17. The men appreciate the kindness of your society very much ; you would have been delighted' to hear their cheery remarks on opening up the parcels. The tobacco from the Overseas Club arrives periodically and has many a time saved the situation.
