SINN FEIN CONDEMNED.
I MEETINGS OF IRISHMEN. [ [Per Press Ajbsociation.] TIMABU, April 20. A representative meeting of Irishmen from all parts of South Canterbury was held to-day, the Mayor of Timaru presiding. It was. resolved io send cables t.) Mr Asquith and Mr Redmond expressing abhorrence of the doings and sayings of the Sinn Feiners and assuring them of the whole-hearted support of [rishmen in New Zealand. The meeting was held at shore notice to arrange for a mass meeting, but so many representative and prominent men attended that it was decided to ace at once. DUXEDIX, April 29.. At a representative meeting of Irishmen held this afternoon to protest against the disturbance in Ireland a series of resolutions was carried expressing regret at the criminal action of ihe Sinn Feiners. which had been brought about by men of no standing, and a,s a practical means of showing condemnation all lit Irishmen who had not yet enrolled were called upon to do so. Further, it- was resolved to send the following cablegram to Mr Asquith and Mr Redmond : ■'The Irishmen of Dunedin desire to express sympathy with the British Government in handling the trouble caused by the action of the misguided Dublin rioters. - '
