They urged that if prices were fixed it should be upon the wholesale and not upon the retail dealers. Thsy also favoured ihe grading of meat. COLLIERIES IDLE (Received April 11. 10 a.m.) SIDNEY, April 11. Eight Newcastle district collieries are idle, and others are working on an average only half time.
