The measurements of the composite American man—the idea] type—were announced by the National Association of Merchant Tailors, which lately closed its convention in St Louis (U.S.A.) Hero is the standard : Height—s feet 6 inches. Chest—3s inches. Waist—33* inches. Hips—39* inches. Thigh—2l3 inches. Calf—l4i inches. Head men sure—One-eighth of the full length of the body. Legs straight and feet arched. Th© association also went on. record as approving the use of the '• abdominal suppressor" by those "customers who, as a result of contraction of the lower abdomen, would present a more symmetrical outline.''
