(Baron Chaplin has been Unionist member of the House of Commons-, representing the "Wimbledon Drraion of Surrey since 1907. He was born in 1841, and was educated at Harrow and Oxford. He represented Se&ford from 1868 to 1906, and was Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster 1885r86, President of the Board of Agriculture 188692 and President of the Local Government Board 18D5-1900. He became the leader of the "unofficial" Opposition in the House of Commons after th« Coalition. Government came into power. It was announced lost year that he would not contest another election.)
