POLICE COURT NEWS.
TO-DAY'S CASES. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) • Three first offenders for drunkenness were each fined ss. Arthur Wilson pleaded guilty to the theft of 10s, the property of Harry Huggard.. It was stated that. Huggard had asked him to havo a drink and had put down half a sovereign, whereupon Wilson picked it up and decamped. He was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. Kate Lynn, alias Brooker, alias Langdon, alias ' Luttle, pleaded guilty to obscene language, said to have been, addressed to a man in Moorhouse Avenue. She was sentenced to a month's imprisonment in view of her record and the dreadful nature of the obscenity. CIVIL CASES.

R. Warren, £46 10s 8d; Adams, Ltd., v. w. J. Cameron and Co., £4l 0s 3d; National Mortgage and Agency Company v. James Nee, £3O 5s 3d. In the defended case of the Guardian Assurance Company v. J. Teale, judgment was given for the plaintiff for £3 185:..8 d.
