GLENTUNNEL FETE.
A iete was held in the Olentunnel Domain yesterday to further the candidature of the Whitecliffs baby in connection with the. carnival 'to be held on December 20. Thero was a fair attendance, and a)i enjoyable afternoon was spent. The following v.-p,ro the stall-holders:—Re-freshments, Mesdames Wilson, Sutherland, Morgan and Campbell; soft, drinks and lollia stall, Mesdames T. Leeruing and W. Greaves, produce stall, Mesdames Powell and Griffiths; Christmas tree, iirs Drennan and Mi*s Abrahams; hoop-la, Mr Kesteven: shooting gallery, Mr W. Grea.ve?; aerial flight, Mr J. G. Campbell. Guessing competitions ar.d other enterprise were conducted, and were well patronised. An auction sale of produce and fowls was held, and fair price* were renli.scd. A hack trotting race was held, each rider carrying n ticket. Mr T. Leeming rode hi* own horse first past the peat, and carried Mr (!. Bell sen.'s ticket. Mr Bell gave back the prize (a ton of <vul). which-, whs sold at -auction for the fund:-. Vlir fote realised somewhere about i'oO. Mr C. I'owel! was ?eeretury.
