NATIONAL REGISTER.

THE OBJECTORS TO SERVICE. A -SUMMARY OF REASONS. [Pee. Pkess Association.] WELLINGTON, December 15. The Primo Minister has received from Un Governmeiit Statistician the result of tho examination Mr Fraser's staff lias beon making of the schedules of the 34j000 men who declared in the National Register t-hafc they wore not prepared to render to the State any services, civil or military. Only a sample lot of 500 cards lias been, examined. Examples were taken from cards belonging to names , beginning with th© letter A, for no other reason than that they wore tho first to bo sorted. Tho staff is now sorting all th© schedules into alphabetical order, and tho extraction of all information concerning the 34,000 men will not be proceeded with until tho sorting is finished. This means that the Government Statistician, will not set about tho task in earnest for about a week, and the total analysis will not b 0 ready until about Christmas. It is suggested, however, that the- 500 cards selected at random may bo typical of tho whole mass. Tho reasons assigned by tho men who havo signed the cards examined for an&wers given are as follows:—■
