THE CALL FOR MEN.

POSITION INJHRISTCHORCH. RECRUITS AVERAGE THIRTY A BAY. TENTH INFANTRY RELNFORCEa MENTS HALF FILLED. A record of thirty recruits a day for the last week is boasted by the recruiting officers. Yesterday th&rm wei'4 twenty-eight enlistments, and the infantry for the 10th Reinforcements is more than half filled already, and thera should be no difficulty in filling the Christchureh quota. Yesterday's figures for the draft to go into cainpotf November 20 are us follows:

Dominion total . . 3500 Christchureh quota,.. , 192 Men passed as fit . . 108 Number required , .84- ': Yesterday's registrations! 28 Days left to fill . 'l3 Number wanted per day 32-3

During the week Lieutenant-Colonel Anderson, P.M.0., selected four melt for the hospital ship and three for the 10th Ambulance Reinforcements, out of fifty men who had been passed as fit for these branches. Captain Northcote, speaking to a reporter, said that it was unlikely that the remaining men could' get away for some time, owing to the small number wanted with eacH batch of reinforcements. He hoped that the men who were anxious to go to the front would transfer to the t infantry, which made the biggest mand' on the recruits. There was, he said, always a good supply of men for branches other than the infantry and mounted rifles, and intending recruit* would have little opportunity foreom# months if they enlisted in the well supplied branches. *

The followyig left on ■Wednesday night to go into camp far the hospital ship.—L. F. Fodte, T. A. B. Grant, 0. R. Hutchings, F. L. Nevia, G. W. Russell and D. N. Cox.
