MEDICAL EXAMINATION.

HELD LAST NIGHT. The -weekly mediiral examination of recruits for'the reinforcements was held at the Kina: Edward Barracks last eve ting under the direction of Lieutcu-ani-Colonel Anderson, principal medical officer. Sixty-six men were examined, including some who had been previously rejected as temporarily "uiifit, and of this number nearly one-hialf wero passed as fit, which is slightly Ik-Iter than the usual percentage. One man who was rejected as temporarily uL'fit had been up on four previous occasions and each time was rejected on account of varicoso veins. He stated that ho will now have them removed by an operation, as he is determined to get away. A pleasing feature of the exairiinations was the large number of recruits for the infantry who passed as fit.
