A good demand continues!. Canterbury twos S-J-dj heavy weight fours 7£d, se-cond-class quality light weight 7sd, other New Zealand brands <£ lanjb B|d for best quality light weight, ordinary quality 7 13-lGd. Beef—O'nly very low quality cow beef is available. Hindquarters 6d, fore-quarters od, chilled hindquarters Sid, fore-quarters 6|d. BUTTER. Tho market is firm for best quality. Danish i.s quiet, ]P2s to 2025. Siberian con mauds a brink demand for tho finest, but low grade is (juiet; 136s to J42s. Irish creamery 176s to 180s. CHEESE. The market, is quiet and prices are slightly weaker, with only a moderate demand (luring this week. Canadian white 70s, coloured 775, New Zealand white 765, coloured 775. Eng'ish Cheddar and Cheshire is firm; 94s to G6s. United States 72s to 745, fair to good quality 60s to 70s. Thoi Canadian and ftlnited States cheese stocks at London, Liverpool and Bristol on October 1 totalled 313,000 boxes, against 169,000 last year. The New Zealand a»d Australian cheese stocks in London and Bristol total 1.1,200 crates, against 2250 last year. HEMP. The market is firm, but little is doing. Manila, new grade, fair, on spot, October-IXjoember shipment, £3B 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 23,000 bales. WHEAT. The market is firmer on account of short supplies and a better denvan 4 from millers. Canadian new crop, Sep-tember-November shipment, 47s 9d; American, August-September shipment, 59s 6d. OATS. The market is firm on account of War Office buying. Argentine, on spot 31s, -October-December shipment 29s 6d. PEAS. There is rathc-r more inquiry. New Zealand maples about 63s for September shipment.
