THE MAGAZINES.
The "Windsor Magazine" for September (Messrs Simpson and Williams) contains several splendidly written and well illustrated war articles, among them being one on " Mesopotamia ana) the War, bv J. A. Leo and; Harold Shepstone, which is particularly interesting just now. Mesopotamia is a country full of historical associations. In Mesopotamia is situated Kurna, the traditional sit© of the Garden of xLdcn, where British men are fighting the Turks. Fifty miles from Kurna is Basra, the chief part of Turkish. Arabia, for centuries the home of Arabian 1 poetry and learning. These and other places aro well described. Another war article is entitled " The Workshops of War," by W. P. Lily Gerald, which gives some idea of the gigantic _ task the British have in supplying munitions to thef Army. .There is a complete story by Gertrude Page and other stories by such well-known writers as If. de Vere Stacpoole, Harold Williams, Ignatius Phayle, Eden Phillpotts, G. B. Lancester, Fred M. White, F. E. Bailye and Vincent Brown.
