But tho special correspondent of the " .Berliner Tageblatt" at Brussels draws a very different picture of tho real sentiments of tho Belgian people, lie points out that- tho Brussellers, as Ik.-, calls thnm, ha to and <Ust)iu-ni -heir new masters. They even refuse to belie vo tho German official reports wirh which their city is so liberaLy placarded, and pass joking remarks about them. Is'o doubt this seems to him to .vivour of lc£e-OMjje.ste, and he is j-till more astonished that portraits of King Albert and badges of the national colours should bo openly bought at the street corners. But he has no doubt rbout the loyalty of Brussels to its King. The people, he writes, live for one thing alone, and that is the return of Their King. Thoy believe that he will return at the head of his army and free his country from the invader, and thev talk and think of nothing else.
