(Received September 2, 11.30 a.m.) PARIS, September 1. i A, party of Frenchmen were -watching 1 the Germans shelling a British maHopjane which was .falling into the German lines, when suddenly the machine j-pse , and came down in the French. lings. The Frenchmen rushed up and found two seemingly dead bodies under the shapeless mass. As the pilot was picked up he showed signs of life, and whispered, /" I am blind. Bring th® major. I c»n give the results of the reconnaissances." The pilot narrated that, after accom-* plishing his mission, shells began to burst at a height of 1500 metres, apparently killing tho look-out and blinding the pilot. The latter let go the levers, but beard the look-out feebly cry, "Rise quickly." The pilot replied, "I am blind." The look-out still feebly cried, "Rise to the right. We ara over the German lines." Following the dying man's directions, I the pilot reached the French lines i where his comrade was found to be dead.
