Ask with was invited to interpret his war bonus percentage award, taking the Northumberland district a.s a test oas©. He decided that it could not be extended beyond a maximum of 65 per cent on the standard rates, which were embodied in tho agreement prior to tho abnormal conditions duo to the war. As the above maximum has now been reached, the men are not entitled to their demand for an additional 11 per cent. The executive of the Welsh Miners' Federation is sending a deputation to Lomlc*i ai d has requested th<s ten thousand strikers to resume.
