Then when default was made on the bills, he took money iYo:u the Native Department to meet ihe demands. .Mr .1 ust-ice Hosking sentenced pri» -i-n.-r to tv o years' hard labour. Barclay "Hector, formerly registrar of the Nov.- Zealand University, who had iileaded guilty to three charges of theft, also came up _for sentence.
