AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.

LAST. NICHT'S MEETING. The Canterbury Automoblie Association met last, evening; present —Mr I'. W. Johnston (chairman), !>r London, find Messrs P. K. Climie, ,1. Hawkes, I). ('rosier and W. Broadway. Messrs G. M. Mai!, \Y. Helliwell, l.)e. TVs and l>. Falck were elected members ol I:,he association. Letters of thanks were received from the Methodist Orphanage, Mount, M >g«dala. Acton-A(|nnis was elected an honorary member of the association during his absence <ti, the war. Mr S. M- Vaugh'in, Whangarei, wrote .stating that, motor-ear owners in his lii.striot were anxious to form ;iii association and asking tor information. Jt ikis decided to forward the information required.

The Malvern County Council wrote asking that the, association should cooperate with the council in bearing the cost of the work of building culverts in its district. It was decided to reply that the association could do no tiling in the .matter. Letters we.-o received from the ttangitata. Mount Peel, Tomuka, South lhikaia and i'pper Ashburtou Road .Boards and the Akaroa. Malvom, Cheviot, Geraldine, Amuri, Paparjia, Oxford. Tawera, Sehwn. Anaiua, \Vtilpara. Wakauui. Levels nnd Mackenzie County Councils stating that they had agreed to erect sign-boards provided bv the association in their districts. Accounts amounting to £3l 13s lid wen' passed for - payment.
