STRUGGLE IN FRANCE.
| ADVANCE ON THE RIGHT. i GERMANS LOSE HEAVILY. The High Commissioner reports:— ' Paris reports that trenches have been i captured north-west of Souoinx. -A trench was captured between Perthes and Beau Se.jour, and progress of four to tire hundred metres made. On the height« of the Meuse, the French artillery, according to prisoners, seriously damaged a forty-two cfmtirnetre gun, which ivas dismounted, and rent to the repair shop. In the Vosges, at Reiekarkerkopp, the Germans counter-Attacked violentsucceeding in gaining a foothold for an instant, but were driven away b.v the infantry, leaving R-aickarkerkopp definitely in the Allies' hands. The enemy's losses were extremely heavy.
