PANAMA CANAL TOLLS.

FIGURES FOR FOUR MONTHS. The receipts of tolls 011 vessels making use of the canal reached 1,000,000 dollars on November 18. and at the end of the month the total was 1,136,205.01 dollars, states the ofiicial "Canal Reoord." The following is a summary of the receipt of tolls, by months, to December 1: Dollars. Prior to August 15 . . . 11,610.69 August 15 to 31 . . . 88,401.80 September Ito3o . . 269,8(53.00 October Ito3l . , , .'578,087.12 November Ito 30 . , 387.242^40 Total . . . 1,135.205.01 During this period 120 vessels, with 738,537 tons of cargo, passed from the Pacific to the Atlantic, and 137 vessels, with 668,947 tons of cargo, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, a total of 257 vessels, with ],2,97.484 tons. Of the 257 vessels; 227 were laden and 30 were in ballast, or by nature not cargo-carrying vessels. Of this total 54 vessels, with a canal tonnage of 320'. 155. passed to the Atlantic on the coastwise route; 61 vessels, with a tonnage of 282,020. to the Pacific on the coastwise route; 34 vessels, with a tonnage of 248.020, passed through on the Pacific Coast to Europe route, and 8 vessels, with a tonnage of 38.318, ptvssad through on the return route.

Tho South America to the United States and Europe route brought 24 vessels, with a tonnage of 166.917, while the, return rout*! brought lo vessels, with a tonnage of 74,644. Twentyfour vessels, with a tonnage of 148,207. used the canal on the United States Atlantic Coast to the Far East route.
